Master Bedroom Goes Ultra Feminine

I loved working with this mom. She needed her bedroom to serve as a retreat--a personal space to start and end each day on a positive note. We held nothing back in this space!  We ordered new furniture, new art, new accessories, and new lighting.

Here's where we started:

We changed everything but the paint color!

Gosh, I love this after photo. I'm so jealous of all the velvet and pink!

We also tackled the nook in her room. She needed storage and a comfy place to read. So I made the most glamorous nook I could!! Check out the before:

A great space, just needed some styling;)

What a fun project this was! Pink spaces are undeniably my favorite rooms to do.

New Home Gets Styled

I got the call to decorate this home while the builders were still putting in the finishing touches. The homeowner already knew she would need help. Those beautiful built-ins weren't going to style themselves!

Those ceilings are stunning! And yes, lots of shelves, but I was excited!!

So I started planning and shopping. I knew I needed some art to pull this big space together. I also needed more furniture. The homeowner wanted to keep her existing sofas, but we did order matching accent chairs to balance the space and add more seating. A big rug to anchor the space was also a must!

And done! The art from Minted gave us the color palette for the room. I also pulled the sofa away from the window and cozied everything up a little bit.

Shelves require a lot of accessories. I always bring more than I need! It's all about interest, balance, and height. I often take a picture of the styled shelves as I go to see what I need to add or take away.  I love how these turned out!

Favorite Rugs

Rugs and pillows are some of my favorite things to shop for. Yes, rugs (and even pillows) can be pricey, but there are so many great inexpensive options out there. Here is a round up of my favorite rugs for under $200!

New Master, Old Furniture

This master bedroom got the star treatment--new furniture, new bedding, new window treatments, and some fresh bedding.

When this family moved into their new build, all their old, hand-me-down furniture came along. It wasn't long before the homeowners knew this room already needed an overhaul. When they called me, I saw a beautiful paint color and a beautiful layout that just needed some planning.

 Right view, wrong furniture.

I loved these clients because they did everything I told them to do ;) I had them order an 8x10 rug to anchor the space (it's a big room!!), new dressers, nightstands, neutral curtains (I wanted them hung wider and higher) and new bedding. I love white duvets because they are easy to style, but I am really against pleats and lots of ruffles. (Not a rule, just a personal preference.)

The nightstands, bench and corner chair are from Joss and Main and the rug is from Rugs USA (my favorite source!!). The dusty blue on the walls really determined are palette for this room (Foggy Day by Sherwin Williams). It's such a pretty color and gives off all the right vibes--moody but fresh all at once!

We got the duvet from West Elm and all the throw pillows from Target. Except for that one in the chair--that was from an Etsy shop that closed. All the other accessories were from Home Goods and Target!

Master Bedroom Refresh

I've been able to do a few master bedrooms lately, and it's been so much fun! This is a room where I don't have to consider family friendly fabrics and furniture. No; this is an adult space that can be beautiful, serene, and even have items that are breakable!

This master had beautiful bones; it just needed to get all styled and pretty. The homeowners did a DIY shiplap wall and painted their espresso bedroom furniture with my favorite recommendation: General Finishes milk paint. Paint and new hardware took their matching set to a whole new level!

White duvet with pretty accent pillows makes for a relaxed, clean feel.

We dressed up the tv area with some greens, a lamp, and a few accessories. Loving the Hearth and Hand baskets on the wall!
