Kids rooms are my favorite rooms to do. There are so many great accessories out there and I love creating spaces that kids can enjoy! I've worked with this awesome family a few times now, and it's been so fun to update the various rooms in their home. Before the school year got underway, we thought it was time to give the boys' bedrooms an updated look. Here are the two rooms before:
The older brother wanted a sports theme; the younger wanted superheroes. The mom wanted each space to function better--a place for them to play but where toys were organized. So, I got to work designing two spaces that fit all of these requests. We painted each room the same color so they would feel connected (Repose Gray by Sherwin Williams). Then, we rearranged the furniture (new mixed in with old) and added in the accessories!
They say jewelry is 50% of an outfit. The same applies to home decor accessories. However, it can be overwhelming and costly to buy accessories. So here are some of my favorites for under $30!
I loved working with this family! They had a great home in a great neighborhood, but were feeling 'meh' about their space. After we picked out new furniture, lighting and accessories, they got to work on DIYing the fireplace and trim. The result is a grown up space that feels styled, cohesive and fresh.
Since their upstairs space is an open concept, we stuck to a similar color palette throughout.
This project made us all so happy--more white, more blue and less brown.
I'm in between projects this week, so naturally I took an afternoon to repaint and spruce up my kids' bathroom ;). The color is SW Sea Salt, and it's so pretty!! If I have the energy to remove all their bath toys, I just might light a few candles and read those books sitting on that stool. :)
